Difference between CBD and hemp seed oil

CBD vs. Hemp Seed Oil: What’s the Difference?

Vitality CBDCBD Product Information

At Vitality, we’ve noticed that many people use the words CBD oil and hemp seed oil interchangeably. However, these words mean different things, although it’s understandable where the confusion comes from. Although they both derive from the cannabis plant, they do have differences. To better understand what the big differentiators are, let’s compare these two products.

CBD vs Hemp Seed Oil

CBD Oil

CBD is a concentrated extract that derives from the cannabis plant. After the oil is extracted from the plant, it can either be used as oil or added to various products, such as CBD salves or gummies. There are three different types of CBD products: isolate, broad-spectrum, and full-spectrum. The difference between these products are the compounds that they contain from the hemp plant. Although the isolate is pure CBD, full-spectrum products contain every compound of the plant, and broad-spectrum includes all of them except THC. You’ll read more about what kind of CBD products we have at Vitality in a bit.

The reason CBD has become so popular is because the list of benefits that it offers continually grows. As more research is done, we learn more and more about what the cannabis plant has to offer. Studies have shown that CBD has been used to reduce pain and discomfort, improve skin conditions, relax muscles, improve our mental health, and so much more. In fact, it’s becoming so popular that the NFL has recently awarded $1 million towards research on cannabinoids.

What many users love about CBD is that it can be consumed in many different presentations; you can cook with it, use it as a topical cream, or incorporate the oil into your everyday routine.

CBD vs. hemp seed oil

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp seed oil comes from the seeds of the cannabis plant. The oil is produced by cold-pressing the seeds for oil production. Since it doesn’t derive from the leaves, stalks, or flowers of the plant (like CBD does), it does not contain any THC; in fact, it contains little to no CBD. Along with not containing THC, this oil is also missing out on many other compounds that are found in the plant.

Similar to CBD, hemp seed oil is diverse and can be utilized in many different ways. This means that it’s extremely easy to be incorporated into your everyday life. That being said, although it can be used in different ways, its benefits will never be able to compete with those of CBD oil. Why? Because in order to get the full benefits of the hemp plant, the whole plant should be utilized.

Which Is Better?

Although they have similarities and are both great products, CBD has more beneficial components. Since hemp seed oil lacks the cannabinoids and terpenes found in CBD, it doesn’t offer the same amount of nutrients to the body.

That being said, in order for the CBD oil to be better than hemp oil, it needs to be good CBD oil. What do we mean by this? Well, as many of you know, not every product on the market has the same quality. Since this is something that you will be consuming or using topically, it’s paramount that you find a product that you can trust.

At Vitality, our products are USDA-certified, organic, high-quality, and full-spectrum. As we mentioned above, full-spectrum CBD products allow you to enjoy the benefits of the entire cannabis plant, meaning you get the maximum results.
